Experienced Veterinary Receptionist

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Experienced Receptionist to join our team at Linden House This is ideally a full time, permanent role working 40 hours per week with a share of late shifts and Saturday mornings (1 in 4) but flexible working will always be considered.
Starting salary NMW +3%, additional dependant on experience and responsibilities undertaken.
You must have experience working as a Receptionist or in a customer-facing role with telephone experience. Specifically we are looking for someone who is detail orientated, with high IT literacy, excellent communication and organisational skills.
Previous experience in veterinary or animal care would be preferred but more important is a positive friendly attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure, even in difficult circumstances. You will need be able to show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to comforting a client who has received bad news.
Main duties include:
- Processing food and medication requests
- Booking appointments, greeting clients on arrival and following the visit through on Robovet
- Manage and record client and pet information securely
- Taking payments after consults or procedures, cashing up on late shifts
- Cleaning the reception area, ensuring the desk and waiting areas are kept tidy at all times
Additional duties for this experienced role may include:
- Responsibility for weekly and monthly health and safety checklists
- Fire Warden duties
- Assisting with month end reconciliation spreadsheets, petty cash and banking
- Using the Robovet system to manage the appointment diary
- Refreshing and maintaining our practice social media presence
