**POST TITLE: MARAC Project Support Worker**

**BASE **Leicester

**SALARY **£21,695 - £22,571

**HOURS OF WORK** 37 hours per week.

**MAIN TASKS **To work within the Community and Outreach Team to provide a high-quality frontline service to survivors of domestic abuse across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

To support survivors of domestic abuse by providing high-quality administrative support for the MARAC service including, client initial contacts, receiving and making referrals, completing welfare checks and undertaking domestic abuse risk assessments.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Service Delivery & Development: To assist in the delivery of individual support to adult victims of domestic abuse with the aim of increasing victim satisfaction and decreasing re-victimisation.
- General: This includes all duties that ensure the safety and effectiveness of the services, and broader responsibilities that contribute to service development.

**Service Delivery & Development**
- To effectively engage with clients to complete initial assessments and identify support needs of the client. This may include travelling to different sites to complete such assessments.
- Provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support for cases heard at MARAC.
- To research cases ahead of MARAC and to gather relevant and proportionate risk focused information, in relation to all vulnerable parties including the perpetrator, in conjunction with the team leader.
- To identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
- To complete welfare checks with clients to ensure regular contact and support is in place.
- To provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service through individual safety planning and personal support for cases heard at MARAC.
- Work with victims of domestic abuse to help them access services to keep them and their children safe.
- Advocate for victims with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
i. Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role fits into them.

ii. Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including in relation to legal options, housing, health and finance.
- Assist the WALL MARAC Service to manage their caseloads ensuring each client receives the appropriate service individual to their needs.
- Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation and help them regain control of their lives.
- Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
- Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policies and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
- Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for victims of domestic abuse.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services work in and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all.
- To publicise the service and ensure adequate information to potential clients.
- To assist in providing publicity material, publicising the service and ensuring adequate distribution of information to potential clients.
- To keep up to date with policy and practice in your area and undertake staff development and training relevant to the post.

- To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

**Line Management Relationship**
- Post holder will be managed by the Community and Outreach Services Team Leader.
