The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the initial examination of all firearms and ballistic material seized, recovered and found ensure the submission, where appropriate to NABIS.

Assist in the coordination and support of OCG management and activities within Warwickshire.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Monitor all the Firearms and Ballistic material seized, recovered and found across Warwickshire, identifying those that are suitable for submission to NABIS, ensuring that they are submitted either by the officer in case or where circumstances dictate, the post holder. Provide guidance on submission criteria to NABIS for employees.

To examine firearms and ballistic material to assess suitability for submission to NABIS in more complex or disputed circumstances. Authorise destruction of firearms and ballistic material.

Monitor and coordinate OCG management within Warwickshire. Act as a single point of contact (SPoC) for OCGM between Warwickshire Police and Gateway (direct link) engaging with the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment Team (ROCTA), other partners and external agencies.

Proactively identify, gather and evaluate intelligence to facilitate the achievement of crime and disorder reduction, NABIS and OCGM objectives, meeting operational and strategic intelligence requirements. Ensure that intelligence relating to threat, harm or risk is managed as a priority.

Provide support to Local Policing Areas departments and the OCG Senior/Lead Responsible Officer (SRO/LRO) in the management of OCG activities ensuring accurate records and audit of the organised crime groups (OCGs) across Warwickshire. Including Morile scoring of OCGs in line with their tier.

Provide support to the monthly Warwickshire Tactical Tasking and Co ordination Group (WTT&CG) meetings regarding OCGM review and assessment processes.

Auditing and maintenance of the NABIS national database ensuring accurate records are created.

Monitor and coordinate the results from NABIS of their examination, ensuring that trends or patterns of concern are identified.

Ensure that the seized, lost and found: property records relating to firearms and ballistic material are accurate.

Provide quality assurance for OCG nominations, disruptions, conduct relevant review, OCG archive and removal requests and maintain relevant records.

Having a good working knowledge of the NABIS memorandum of understanding and NABIS guidance within the force ensuring both are adhered to and the implications of non-compliance.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

**Knowledge**:
Detailed knowledge of National Ballistics Intelligence Services (NABIS) requirements under Memorandum of Understanding and Guide to Forces.

Knowledge of Morile and OCGM scoring along with the banding and tier system for OCGM.

Knowledge of intelligence policy and procedures.

IPP accreditation or to complete this within 12 months of securing the role.

**Experience**:
Experience of working in the policing intelligence environment with recent usage of policing and intelligence systems, and experience of dealing withthreat, harm, risk and vulnerabilities in respect of OCGM and NABIS.

Experience in handling and working with firearms and ballistic material.

Experience in working with external agencies and partners in tackling and disrupting serious crime and OCGs.

**Key Skills**:
The ability to review, analyse, edit and collate material from a wide range of different sources.

Excellent written and oral communications including writing of reports and presenting/briefing groups.

**Special Conditions**:
Travel throughout Warwickshire. Occasional weekend working - when required.
