The main purpose of the role is to develop intelligence taking account of policing priorities and threat, harm, and risk in support of operational activity.

There may be a requirement to travel to stations across the force area.

The Intelligence Department will be focused on proactive intelligence development in order to prevent crime, bring offenders to justice and deliver the force’s vision of protecting people from harm.

As an Intelligence Officer you will be pivotal in identifying emerging threats and opportunities for action, providing intelligence support to ongoing incidents and driving operational activity to deliver results against offences which cause the highest threat, risk and harm.

Working in Intelligence is an interesting and varied role, where you will support investigations at a local, regional or national level, gain an insight into covert policing and work with partners in other forces and other Law Enforcement Agencies such as ROCU and WMCTU. You will support the provision of intelligence to live-time incidents and directly influence operational action, reducing the impact of and disrupting criminal activity across Warwickshire.

Intelligence is a specialist area of policing, and working in the intelligence world will give you opportunities, skills and experience transferrable to various career pathways, including covert policing, ROCU, Specialist Crime, or Investigations.

Post holders will be expected to attain and maintain the Intelligence Professionalization Programme (IPP) qualification, which is accredited by the College of Policing and recognized nationally.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Proactively identify, gather, and evaluate intelligence to facilitate the achievement of crime and disorder reduction objectives, meeting operational and strategic intelligence requirements. Ensure that intelligence relating to threat, harm or risk is managed as a priority.

Produce intelligence products linked to operational activity to support decision making in order to proactively target crime and criminals prioritising the force and local control strategy offences.

Conduct intelligence driven briefing, tasking and debriefing in a manner that is driven by, and contributes to, the use of intelligence to support organisational objectives. Conduct debriefs ensuring that results of tasks set and intelligence gained is recorded.

Support the execution of search warrants across the force area where required.

Provide intelligence support for major incidents and enquiries.

Provide continuity for exhibits and act as exhibits officer if required within the intelligence development of an operation / project.

Engage with external agencies / partners as required, seeking to nurture relationships to enable the dynamic two-way passage of intelligence.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
