**We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated student to help us develop our Peer Support offering in the School of Chemistry.**

**The Opportunity**:
Within the new model of Student Support there is a key role for student peers in providing additional academic support, as well as wellbeing and mentoring opportunities. In the School of Chemistry we have a very active student body with ChemSoc (Chemistry Society) and CAcFams (Chemistry Academic Families) providing many aspects of Peer Support, along with access to resources created as part of the Chemunity project.

However, with the new Student Support Model, and the challenges of post-pandemic student experience - we would like to define and develop the Peer Support offering in the School, and this is where we need you

The Opportunity here is to assess the Peer Support landscape and trial new ideas to create a future plan for Peer Support in Chemistry. The Peer Support Student Coordinator (PSSC) will have the opportunity to work with their peers and the academic and student support staff to drive this project. As the first PSSC in Chemistry they will play a key role in shaping Peer Support in the years to come.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- In-depth knowledge of the School of Chemistry student experience _e.g. _by being a current undergraduate student, or a postgraduate student who completed their undergraduate degree in the School of Chemistry.
- A pro-active and collaborative approach to projects and leadership.
- A good communicator both verbally and in writing.
- Experience in conducting surveys, focus groups or other methods of qualitative data gathering would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and/or sensitivity to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) issues with regard to accessibility.
