This varied administration job plays a vital role in supporting the managers and clinical staff delivering the major trauma service and Hyperacute Rehabilitation team in Southmead hospital, Major Trauma Centre.

We are looking for a Severn Major Trauma Centre Administrator to workpart time 30 hours per week.

We are pleased to be offering the opportunity to join the Major Trauma Service who provide a specialist service for those patients and their families within the Major Trauma Centre as a part of a wider Network of the Severn Operational Delivery Network.

We are looking for a forward thinking, motivated individual to provide full administrative support to amanagement team andmultidisciplinary team within the Major Trauma Centre.

You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, you may have proven administrative experience within the health sector, or other administration settings, including use of Microsoft Office based software, Excel and word.

You will require excellent interpersonal skills showing discretion when dealing with matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.

Working from home can be considered but this is dependent on the needs of the service and government regulations, at the managers authorisation. Term time and hours to fit in with a work-life balance also considered.

- Experience in a range of administrative duties
- Competence or transferable skills with using hospital administration systems - etc.
- Appreciation of a patient’s journey through their acute hospital stay.
- The ability to liaise with and work within a multi-professional team.
- The ability to organise own workload to meet deadlines and to remain calm under pressure.
- The ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels, using a variety of methods, and using tact and diplomacy where needed.
- The ability to work in complete confidence.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet varying requirements of the role.
- The ability to identify and implement improvements on own initiative.
- Knowledge of GDPR/Patient Confidentiality and Freedom of Information..

Main Duties & Responsibilities Of The Post
- Provide secretarial support to the Major Trauma Service.
- Take minutes and notes as required.
- Organise meetings, venues as requested.
- Undertake any necessary filing, scanning, photocopying and other administrative duties to ensure the efficient running of the office.
- Support the equipment & consumables for the Major Trauma office.
- Input referrals, book appointments, update clinic outcomes on to CareFlow for Major Trauma Psychology Service and support other administrative duties for this service as required.
- Provide administrative support to Governance leads as required.
- Manage and organise diaries for regular meetings and scheduling additional meetings as required.
- Work closely with the Major Trauma Centre Manager to assist in projects to improve the patient’s care pathway
- Develop a working relationship with a number of key stakeholders.
