What You Will Contribute:
Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Location: Delph (Part remote with Norwich)

Contract Type: Permanent

JOB PURPOSE

This role is key to taking responsibility for:
The Purchase + Sales Ledger function, Expenses processing, Credit Control, VAT, Bank reconciliations along with administrative support to the business and accounting support to the Finance Manager.

RESPONSIBILITES / COMMITMENTS (DELIVERABLES & KPI’S)
- Responsibility for sending Sales invoices
- Maintenance and reconciliation of the aged creditors and aged debtors.
- Responsibility for credit control; ensuring debts are collected on time
- Processing and reconciliation of colleague expenses
- Cash book maintenance: posting of cash book transactions, reconciling all bank accounts
- Assisting the Finance Manager with relevant month end processes and other ad hoc tasks as directed
- Adhoc office and administration support tasks as required.
- Record benefits in kind for fiscal year end reporting to HMRC
- Calculate and submit VAT returns to HMRC, and deal with VAT related queries
- Other adhoc duties as requested by the business

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL
- Experience of Sage200
- Basic literacy and numeracy: GCSE English, maths and science grades A-C
- Part qualified or studying towards a relevant accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, etc)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Accuracy skills for capturing information
- Experience of working in an accounts role relevant to this role
- 3 years corporate industry experiences
- Available to travel to Norwich regularly

- Self-motivated and confident to work without supervision and to deadlines, with a can do attitude
- Ability to adapt and work effectively on a variety of tasks at once
- High standards of accuracy and understanding of basic accounting framework
- Organisational skills and efficiency shown through good practice and processes
- Approachable and good interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
- A Team player, including building and maintaining strong relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Detailed approach with ability to also take a step back to review
- Able to plan, manage and prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
- Motivation to learn new skills
