**About the Opportunity**

An opportunity has arisen within Cities & Places to support our Wolverhampton Homes project as a CDM Lead 3 days per week and supporting the C&P Team 2 days per week on general HSW tasks, with a view to partaking the CDM Lead, full-time on the Wolverhampton project. This position plays a proactive, visible, and diligent role during all aspects of Engineering & Design work to ensure that the teams are meeting the intent of HSE in Design Best Practice, local work instructions, and legislative requirements. This opportunity is a flexible location with the request of attending the Wolverhampton Homes project maximum two visits per month.

**Responsibilities**

The CDM Lead should have appropriate experience and knowledge of engineering design, construction and health and safety to be able to undertake numerous tasks such as advising the team on HSE in Design requirements and local H&S legislation with respect to design. You will be able to ensure a Risk Register is created and maintained where all the hazards identified by the designers and the HSE Design Professional will be recorded, and the design decisions and mitigation measures identified for each hazard will be recorded. You will also be expected to contribute to input/organisation of HSE in design reviews and repairing HSE Workshop Reports and Design Gateway Statements.

There will also be a requirement to undertake site visits where required to understand specific site issues, as well as undertaking additional tasks as required for local H&S legislation.

For the C&P HSW general role; you will be responsible for Leading on Safety Evaluation Reviews. Being the HSW point of contact for high-risk projects for concerns, queries, check-ins and SSOW reviews. You may occasionally be asked to help produce monthly HSW Performance reports and contribute at C&P Senior meetings on C&P HSW Performance and relevant wellbeing topics

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- At least 5 years’ experience in Building Services engineering in the UK
- Engineering qualification in one of the following disciplines: civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, building services
- NEBOSH certificate
- Knowledge of CDM or willingness to complete internal learning
- Proven capability to influence designer, contractors and client stakeholders
- Confidence and credibility in own expertise
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed inter-personal skills - team player
- Experience in working with Behavioural Safety Initiatives
