Tobacco Dependency Advisor

**SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY OR FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 12 MONTHS**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for aBand 4 Tobacco Dependency Advisor (indicative - pending job matching)within St Helier Hospital, as part of the wider NHS Long Term Plan.

The advisor will be part of a small team working across the hospital, providing individualised smoking cessation support to inpatients, helping smokers to quit when they are admitted to hospital.

The role of TDA involves working alongside clinical staff to ensure all adult inpatient smokers are offered a referral to the opt out Trust smoking cessation service, in order to facilitate and maintain a quit attempt through a personalised care plan, including advising on the use of nicotine replacement therapy.

The role also involves keeping track of referrals using electronic patient records and contributing to data collection, as well as liaison with the community stop smoking service, and team-working with a range of Trust colleagues. You will deliver training to Trust staff on how to give Very Brief Advice (VBA) and evidence based smoking cessation interventions.

The Tobacco Dependency service within St Helier Hospital is a new service and you will be part of a small but dynamic team.
