**Key Duties**

**General communications, including marketing and events**

General: Provide day-to-day communications, media, and events support to the wider organisation and to promote our service delivery and coordination of our communication inbox.

Web: Regularly review and update existing website content, including responding to requests from across the team.

Social media: Manage the social media calendar, including sourcing and creating content, across all platforms - in line with our communications strategy.

Engagement and evaluation: Support to growing engagement with our channels and evaluate our social media and web activity as well as manage our Google analytics, producing reports as required.

Storytelling: Build our storytelling resources (case studies, photos, film) to enable us to demonstrate the impact of our work and that of the wider VCSE sector in Cornwall, inspiring increased engagement

Copywriting: Create copy as needed for communications collateral and publications, reports, campaigns, and website.

Press and PR: Research stories, draft press releases and case studies, maintain media lists and record and evaluate media coverage.

Brand Development: Support the development of our library of brand assets. Liaise with delegated grant recipients regarding the acknowledgement of funding and use of our logo. Support with development of a new online photo library, ensuring imagery is collected and stored in line with GDPR.

Printed materials: Support with the design and production of reports and communications and event collateral.

Events: Coordinate a series of events and attend relevant external events to promote our organisation and the wider sector.

Video editing and creation: Support with the production of our video content for our communications activities.

External suppliers: Liaise with photographers, videographers, printers, web agency, venues and caterers and other suppliers when required. Drafting clear briefs for suppliers.

Contribute as a team member to the overall development of Cornwall VSF’s.

Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as directed by your line manager or member of leadership team.

**General working requirements**

Keep up to date with Cornwall VSF’s aims, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed

Working with VSF leadership to ensure the working culture of the VSF is collaborative, inclusive, reflective, constructive and matches the co-produced intentions for your VSF contracts.

Have an affinity to Cornwall VSF’s values of Compassion, Transparency and Inclusivity and always deliver your work with these values in mind.

Have a good understanding and awareness of current sector issues and the Cornwall community.

Have a good understanding of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care System.

Ensure the work reflects equality, diversity and inclusion legislation policy, and best practice

Monitor and evaluate activities appropriate to the role and contribute to the service planning process by providing regular reports and feedback on areas of responsibility.

Use VSF’s CRM system to share information about our stakeholders and membership organisations that would be beneficial to all colleagues.

**Essential Criteria**

A natural storyteller with excellent communication skills. Experience of writing engaging and inspiring copy for different audiences, channels, and functions desired.

Social media savvy. Experience in managing content and growth across multiple channels desired.

A good eye for design with a strong understanding of brand. Experience of using software packages such as Canva to create basic print materials as well as digital and video content desired.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.

Highly organised and happy to juggle projects and activities and respond swiftly to circumstances when required.

Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously but also as part of the wider team.

Flexible and open, excited to take on new challenges and learn new skills if the role requires.

Creative and enthusiastic with the ability to bring fresh ideas to our work.

Passionate about using your skills and knowledge to help connect, support, and promote Cornwall’s voluntary, community, social enterprise (VCSE) sector.

Demonstrable ability as adaptable and effective communicator, delivering and accepting information at a variety of people levels (verbal, written, presentation).

Ability to analyse, understand, explain, and make recommendations based on complex information.

Ability to use their initiative to propose process, systems, and solutions and to consider risk.

Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Suite including excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
