Job Title: Head of Finance

The Role

Duties and responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts (including reconciliation of BS and P&L to budget) and providing insightful commentary
- Responsibility for HR and working closely with our internal HR coordinator
- Preparation of monthly payrolls. Payroll is processed via third party but need to be checked for discrepancies and journals posted into the accounting system
- Responsibility for the Company pension scheme including monthly submissions and Pension Scheme Returns
- Managing a busy team of 7 including role appraisal, development and bi-annual reviews
- Attend monthly management meetings held in our London office and the ability to attend in other instances if required.
- Calculation of monthly agent commissions
- Quarterly VAT preparation
- Preparing Annual Accounts and liaising with auditors
- Negotiating energy contracts across the business
- Oversee the H & S needs of the business in Congleton and London
- Preparation of P11Ds
- Internally liaising with non-finance department Heads to ensure budgets are met
- Liaising with brokers and negotiation of comprehensive insurance cover for the business
- Liaising with trademark lawyers
- Liaising with credit insurers Understanding of and responsibility for managing the IT resources and suppliers
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- Strong budgeting and forecasting skills
- Strong Cash flow management skills including experience with FX
- Strong communication skills with the ability to address all levels of staff and management.
- Experience working on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central and be highly capable with Excel.
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in a commercial organisation, preferably SME.
- Effective problem solver
- Comfortable getting involved in all aspects of the work.
- Proven experience in team management and leadership is essential.
- Enjoys the challenge of adding value to an organisation and developing the team around them
