We currently have a vacancy for a Administration and clerical in SDEC Medical Take Unit. We are seeking someone with excellent organisational skills, a range of computer skills and experience in working in an administrative role ( ward clerk or secretary).

Good communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly approach, enthusiasm and motivation are all required for this post.

Previous experience of working within an NHS environment would be desirable but not essential.

- To assist the Ward Manager in checking nursing staffing levels, highlighting any issues and taking appropriate action e.g. liaising with IT Point, booking shifts to ensure that the ward is adequately covered.
- To input data into computerised Roster system
- To provide clerical support to the ward /unit team including maintaining the staff records, undertaking photocopying & faxing. Organising ward meetings and taking minutes and some typing of correspondence and documents.
- To assist the ward staff in the receipt/acceptance of money and gifts ensuring compliance with Trust Policy.
- Ordering equipment and receipting invoices
- Assist the Ward Manager to manage his/her diary, arranging for a deputy to attend meetings where appropriate
- Arrange for notes to be available for the UNIT Sister where needed for investigating any complaints
