**About the role**:
Reception and switchboard duties:
Receiving visitors to the school in a welcoming and appropriate manner
Acting as the first line of security for the front entrance to the school, operating the signing-in and out system and alerting appropriate staff if there are concerns about people who are trying to enter the site
Operation of the school switchboard, transferring calls as appropriate
Dealing with pupil enquiries
Updating staff firelists as appropriate
In the event of a fire evacuation, assisting in the roll call of staff and visitors, as directed in the staff handbook

Postal duties:
Sorting and distributing the incoming post
Franking and recording the outgoing mail, maintaining the franking machine and dealing with the postal account
Dealing with couriers, booking collections, checking deliveries

Clerical Duties:
ID Badge printing, recording and issuing
ParentMail administration (parent account login etc, not financial aspects)
Acting as the initial contact point for parents and students in resolving ParentMail administrative issues
Booking and tracking taxis on behalf of other staff for school activities.
Other duties as requested by the Bursar to contribute to the running of the front office and of the school

Assisting in the organisation of functions:
Providing clerical assistance for public events
Acting as a booking office for the various school events and productions and collecting payment for tickets, issuing of tickets and liaising with Aylesbury Grammar School
Liaising with the Aylesbury High School Association (AHSA) over event administration

Miscellaneous duties:
Management of lost property and confiscated items
Liaising with the bus companies and Passenger Transport Dept at County Hall
Arranging school tours for prospective pupils or prospective staff and visitors
Work with other members of the Admin Support Team to contribute to the school improvement process
Administration and Handing out Uniform orders

Medical duties:
Providing first aid cover for the site as back-up when Matron is absent or otherwise unavailable. Training will be provided.
