**About us**:
The Research Fellow will join the Institute of Ophthalmology responsible to Dr Colin Chu as part of his lab.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to establish a new translational understanding of retinal disease by deploying cutting edge tissue imaging techniques.

**About the role**:
The post holder will be an integral part of managing the research group, which works on immunology both in man and mouse, as well as deploying advanced analysis platforms using biobanked human tissues.
They will take particular responsibility for building and running a mouse adaptive optics system and as part of this, it is expected the appointee will spend 3 months with our collaborators at the University of Rochester.
They will also be responsible for supporting clinical studies from the lab including any human blood and tissue biobanking and analysis, so require expertise in handling human immunological tissues.
The post is 0.8FTE and funded for 2 years in the first instance.
**About you**:
Successful Research Fellow will have an experience in lab management, running a core facility setup and immunology research, including human blood and tissue biobanking.
You will also have an interest in adaptive optics and in vivo advanced imaging in relation to the eye and be willing to travel to the US for 3 months.
