**Title: Junior Production Assistant**

**Position Reports To**: Production Manager

We are looking for a Junior Production Assistant to help support our Production Team at our UK base in Brightlingsea. We will provide full, hands on, on the job training. You will be part of our successful, hard-working team in a fun, friendly supportive environment.

Comus International was founded in June 1978 by Robert P. Romano. Comus International started out as a manufacturer of glass mercury tilt-switches for residential and commercial thermostats. Immediate success and rapid growth led to new product development and soon the metal mercury switch and, ultimately, the patented non-mercury switch were designed and offered to the market which led to further success.

Today, Comus International is a leading manufacturer of tilt and tip-over switches, motion/vibration sensors, reed switches, reed relays, solid state relays, proximity sensors, float switches and a wide variety of custom turnkey sensors. Comus has evolved into a world leader in the design, development, and manufacture of a wide variety of sensors and sensor-related products. Applications are found in such diverse market segments as medical, automotive, white goods, alarm and security, and military/aerospace.

**Job role**

Junior Production Assistant, your job is to assist in the manufacturing process of products for our customers to the required quality standard and on time. By following and understanding work instructions, achieving targets, and producing a high standard of work. Your job will include assembly work, preparation of cables, and anything else required.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Maintain high standards of product quality and compliance.
- Get your first item checked with QC before going forward with any new job.
- Follow work instructions.
- Ask for any extra personal training.
- Ensure you are at your workstation at your contracted start time and work until your contracted finishing time.
- Adhere to your break and lunch times.
- Follow the correct absence procedure.
- Report any issues toa Senior Operator or Manager.

**Improving Efficiency and Productivity**
- Achieve targets. (Quality and Productivity)
- Identify process improvements and escalate to Supervisor/Manager.
- Check you have the right tools.
- Identify products clearly by keeping them clearly segregated.

**Working Safely**
- Ensure your work area is clean and tidy.
- Report any accidents or illness to your supervisor/ manager.
- Use the correct Personal Protective Equipment where required.

**Job Types**: Part time, permanent Contract.

**Schedule**:
Factory opening times:
Monday-Thursday 8am - 5pm

Friday 8am - 4:30pm

*you will not be expect to work the full time hours listed above* Flexible working hours can be provided and we will be willing to work around your college times.
