Too Good To Waste are one of the UK’s leading reuse charities, proudly situated in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
For over 25 years we have been successfully selling affordable, pre-owned household and store items from our showrooms in Ynyshir and Aberdare. The proceeds from the sales are then used to help the local community.
We now have a vacancy for a **Team Leader** to support with our new and exiting vintage & retro store that is set in the heart of Treorchy.
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail showroom, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to organisational standards.
- Maintain a visually merchandised, appealing, and organised showroom layout that effectively showcases our vintage and retro offerings.
- Manage staffing schedules, task delegation, and performance evaluation of showroom staff/volunteer members.
- Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service, offering product knowledge, styling advice, and assistance to shoppers.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve revenue targets, including promotions, events, and partnerships.
- Monitor sales trends, customer feedback and, in conjunction with the organisation management, market dynamics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Oversee inventory procurement, including sourcing vintage and retro items from donations and other channels, with the support of other organisation departments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock assessments, and implement strategies to maximise inventory turnover.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a diverse and desirable product assortment that aligns with customer preferences and trends.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, social media initiatives, and community engagement activities.
- Utilise digital platforms and traditional marketing channels to increase brand awareness, drive foot traffic, and enhance customer engagement.
- Cultivate relationships with local influencers, media outlets, and community partners to amplify the organisation's visibility and impact.
- Champion the organisation's commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices, educating staff and customers on the environmental benefits of reuse and shopping vintage.
- To be a key holder.
- A strong background in retail, preferably at a management level.
- A deep appreciation for vintage and retro items and their selling points.
- Commitment to sustainable practices.
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of people from public, volunteers, stakeholders, senior management & trustees.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- High degree of self-motivation.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £22,990.00 per year
**Experience**:
- Supervisor/Management: 1 year (preferred)
