We are looking to recruit a full time Band 6 Clinical Practice Education Facilitator for the Emergency Services within a team of Practice Education Facilitators.

The role would include working alongside clinical staff, whilst promoting best practice and excellent, high-quality evidence-based, compassionate care, providing education and support, whilst facilitating a learning environment and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement. The role would include orientation, induction, supporting new staff members to the department, both registered nurses and unregistered. It would also include supporting the continuing professional development of all staff, including those transitioning into the department or new roles.

There would be an expectation for excellent team working and communication skills, able to use initiative and work autonomously as well as within a team. There would be a requirement to be able to identify and meet the learning and educational needs of staff, formulating plans and monitoring professional development. Encouraging positive change and advancement of knowledge and skills, that meets the needs of the staff, the local requirements and the organisation.

To ensure safe and effective clinical/educational practice.

To work within an educational environment. Supporting and reinforcing the values and standards of compassion and respect in care, demonstrating analysis and decision-making skills Supporting in the delivery of educational sessions to qualified nurses, providing a clinically and educationally excellent, high-quality service that will
influence and facilitate change within the organisation.

Ensure a high standard of care and record-keeping in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health and Care Professions Council, national legislation and local standards.

To promote learning within the clinical environment

Demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge, skill and understanding of clinical practice standards within the Trust acting as a resource and role model to colleagues.

Support staff with specialist advice in relation to practice education.

Work alongside clinical staff, promoting best practice, providing support and education, facilitating a learning environment and developing staff to meet local requirements.

When delivering training sessions and supporting staff clinically, promote that all staff are aware of and adhere to all relevant Trust policies and procedures as part of educational activity,

Participate in supporting a culture of protecting patients from harm and deprivation of basic rights ensuring a safe and effective service with continuous quality improvement.

Contributes to managing changes and improvement through the use of audit, staff/student feedback and reflection on practice by self and other members of the team.

Promote a clean and safe environment by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and safety, healthcare-associated infection prevention, clinical governance, including risk management and critical incident reporting and root cause analysis.

Participate in the promotion of a high standard of fundamental care and record-keeping in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health Professions Council, national legislation and local standards.

To support staff development when standards fall below expected levels

Report incidents and near misses promptly and appropriately
