Senior Counsellor - IAPT Counselling Team Leader

Are you an experienced BACP accredited counsellor passionate about providing high quality counselling to people with common mental health problems who also has a keen interest in supporting other qualified and trainee counsellors?

Increased investment in clinical leadership has resulted in an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Counsellor/Counselling Team Leader post (Band 7).

Investing in our team is important to us and we pride ourselves on the support we offer to staff. Additional leadership training will also be offered to support you in your role.

This is an exciting time for Blackpool Healthier Minds. The role will provide a genuine opportunity for you to develop your leadership skills. You will have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team of staff who are genuinely committed to improving the lives of our service users and carers.

They will carry a caseload of clients with common mental illness, including those with complexity. It is anticipated that clinical work will form approximately 80% of your time with the remaining 20% (1 day per week) dedicated to supervisory and other leadership tasks. You will be offered regular clinical and management support and supervision.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate they have practiced as a clinician within the National IAPT Programme and have knowledge of the challenges this can bring. An understanding and commitment to both the IAPT model and staff wellbeing are essential.

The role may appeal to a counsellor keen to develop their skills in clinical leadership by supporting front line clinicians. As a senior clinician, you will be pivotal in nurturing team cohesion, motivation and enthusiasm.

They will also provide clinical leadership, consultation, guidance and training to counsellors and trainees whilst carrying a caseload of clients with common mental illness, including those with complexity. You will be offered regular clinical and management support and supervision.

Blackpool Healthier Minds has a strong supportive leadership team which you will be an integral part of. The role may appeal to a counsellor keen to develop their skills in clinical leadership by supporting front line clinicians. As a senior clinician, you will be pivotal in nurturing team cohesion, motivation and enthusiasm. An important part of the role will be to ensure that IAPT national guidelines are being followed within the service and KPI targets are achieved. You will have knowledge and experience of supporting staff.
