To work within a multidisciplinary team offering full comprehensive assessments and intervention in a range of settings and evaluate the care to children, young people and their families including those with learning disabilities and an additional mental health need in line with local and national guidelines.

To provide regular and on-going consultation, joint work, training, and advice to multi agency staff in relation to children and young people who have a learning disability and mental health need.

CLINICAL
- To provide full clinical assessments of children, young people and their families referred to CAMHS in a variety of setting and situation.
- To manage a clinical caseload, comprising of assessments and ongoing direct therapeutic interventions to children, young people who have complex learning disability and mental health needs. This will include regular liaison and collaborative working with other agencies i.e., social services and education.
- To share knowledge and skills with CAMHS colleagues to identify and facilitate therapeutic interventions to enable them to work with children and young people with learning disabilities and mental health needs on their individual caseloads.
- You may be asked to take part in the out of hours CYP options rota system i.e. (CASHER). Providing comprehensive risk assessment i.e., consultation and assessments of children and young people in A&E, paediatric ward, and the community. This may require working evenings and weekends.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Professional who would like to join our progressive and forward-thinking Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). With demonstrable experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health team you will hold current registration and qualification in one of the following professions: Mental Health Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Social Worker, Psychology, Occupational Therapist, Accredited Counsellor. With a clinical focus on children and young people with a mental health issue alongside a learning disability.

You will work alongside colleagues ensuring that the highest quality of care is delivered to children, young people, and families. You will have opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge and influence team and service development.

The post is offered on as a full-time 37.5 hours permanent basis.

PROFESSIONAL
- Fully participate in the appraisals and personal development review process.
- Maintain and develop own professional skills and knowledge. Undertake all mandatory training and continuing professional development to ensure professional knowledge is current and complies with national guidelines and Trust policy.
- Maintain appropriate professional appearance at all times.
- Ensure Professional Registration is current.

MANAGERIAL
- To ensure agreed assessments and therapeutic work is undertaken within national and local target times.
- To undertake PDR meetings with junior staff.
- To provide caseload management/supervision to junior staff.
