**What to expect**:
As part of a 10-person team working across two sites but based in one (Runcorn, Cheshire), you will be the key point of contact for any Data Centre requirements. This role is 24/7/365 to ensure that 24 hours monitoring, modifications, system tasks and physical work can be carried out in a timely manner. Your priorities will be driven by ServiceNow tasks, smart and remote hands requests which are managed internally and externally with clear SLA expectations surrounding these.

Working as part of the 24/7 Data Centre Team responsible for delivering quality support for internal and customer facing systems. Ensuring that successful completion of operational activities is achieved on the IT infrastructure.

Actively engaged in monitoring systems and providing technical support within the environment to deliver and maintain operational services.

Ensure Data Centre policies and procedures are adhered to including Security and Data Centre Operational processes.

It will be vital to be able to work closely with multiple clients, to provide a fully rounded level of support.
- Monitor IT systems and to follow operational procedures/diagnostics to check and maintain continuity of service provision
- Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot problems to limit unscheduled service downtime;
- Manage incoming workload from multiple channels
- Collaborate with the wider IT Infrastructure Team to resolve customer issues
- Perform server installation and de-installations
- Preform media management, disk swaps, cabling including a wide range of all Data Centre tasks.
- Implement change requests, upgrades and patches as required
- Proactively administer systems to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime; ensure that daily / monthly / annual batch processes are met.
- Produce, when required, clear and well-structured written documentation and communication including reporting.
- This is mainly a BAU role but there will be opportunities to contribute to projects as and when required

**What we expect from you**:

- IT Infrastructure and Operations experience (preferred)
- Data Centre background (preferred)
- IT Troubleshooting skills
- A general understanding of IT Service Delivery
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multi-skilled teams
- Experience of server-based enterprise IT systems
- ITIL Foundation preferred
- Team worker who is able to work alongside and learn from experienced members of the team
- Keen to learn and take onboard new skills
