**Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist - Inside IR35**
**Contract Term: Initially 4 months**
**Contracting Authority: Crown Prosecution Service**
**Location: Hybrid - London or York**
**As a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist your main responsibilities would be**:
The role will support the Head of Strategic Financial Planning (SFP) with the financial input to the government Spending Reviews, the development of robust long term financial plans and allocation of resources in line with CPS strategy and priorities.
- Evaluate the financial impact of changes in government policy, process and legislation for the CPS.
- Draft clear and concise written submissions to the Head of SFP outlining options for pro-actively addressing such changes, making recommendations for action including analysis of risks and benefits.
- Report on monthly forecast outturn reports and then conduct in-depth data analysis, identifying trends and predicting expenditure hot spots in a timely manner to Finance Directorate Senior Management (Head of SFP, Deputy Director and CFO), Financial Business Partners, budget holders and to meet Treasury reporting timetables.
- Draft strategic briefings, responses to PQs for approval by and on behalf of the Head of SFP and provide detailed research and analyses contributions to Departmental reports within deadlines.
- Interpreting and reporting against budgets, drawing on wide experience of variance analysis and making recommendations to the Head of SFP and Area / HQ Business Managers on prioritisation of competing budget requirements.
- Support the Head of Strategic Financial Planning (SFP) to develop robust analysis that will underpin financial input to Government Spending Reviews.
- Co-ordinate the development of long term strategic financial plans for the CPS.
- Ensure that that best practice is identified, disseminated and shared amongst team members and managers in the finance function across the organisation, and that consistency of approach is adopted.
