We are looking for an experienced cardiac physiologist with expertise in cardiac rhythm management and echocardiography to join our motivated and innovative teaching team at the University of Southampton.

We wish to enhance our established teaching programmes with the appointment of a Senior Teaching Fellow in Cardiac Physiology (0.2 FTE). Our BSc (Hons) Cardiac Physiology course continues to have a 100% student satisfaction and 100% employment within the NHS. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated professional to teach in 2 specialist areas of cardiac physiology and provide generic teaching across all areas of cardiology. You will join an established and highly skilled teaching team and make a contribution to the continued success of our well-funded research.

There will be opportunities to contribute to ongoing curriculum review, ensuring that our programmes produce future leaders in cardiac physiology, health care, health research and health education. This is a stimulating position that offers the opportunity to be involved in cross-disciplinary research within the School of Health Sciences, and throughout the University of Southampton. The School is part of the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences (FELS), which offers further opportunities for innovative, interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Post 1; 0.2 FTE Senior Teaching Fellow - 12 month contract

You will have experience in a range of cardiac physiology procedures including non-invasive and invasive, be an experienced cardiac educator, theoretical and practical, and mentoring, and be able to bring innovative teaching methods and contemporary practice-based experience to our well-established curriculum. You will be expected to support the teaching of cardiac physiology and a range of teaching and learning experiences, including module leadership.

**The job**

As part of the Cardiac Physiology teaching team;
- contributing to the design and delivery of programmes curriculum
- clinical visiting and placement support
- student support and progression
- quality monitoring and enhancement activities across Faculty and University teams

**The skills/experience needed**
- BSE/IBHRE registration
- Teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level in cardiac physiology (CRM and echocardiography) and/or formal teaching qualification(s).
- Pedagogic or practitioner research experience at BSc level as a minimum.
- Clinical expertise in cardiac rhythm management and echocardiography.
