Our main aim is to protect and enhance the lives of the children of Reading. We help families find long-term solutions to ensure children lead happy, healthy and successful lives.

**About the role**

Are you a care worker with a Level 3 residential childcare qualification? Or, do you have experience working with children with learning disabilities and a willingness to undertake this qualification? We have several full-time vacancies available due to an increase in referrals to the services.

Our committed team provides personalised care across shared care and short break services in Reading for young people.

If you're looking for full time work and want a fantastically rewarding career, then we want to hear from you.

This is a great opportunity to join our enthusiastic team at our children's homes, both of which have been rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. You will be supporting young people to lead as full a life as possible, helping with everyday activities.

Pinecroft is a shared care service offering high quality care for children and young people aged 8-18 years with complex needs and learning disabilities.

The role requires staff to work on a shift pattern rota, which will include a combination of early (7-3) and late (2-10) shifts, sleep-ins, weekend working and religious celebration days.

**About you**
- You will hold a QCF in children and young people's workforce or equivalent qualification, or be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to achieve this.
- You will need to have the ability to cope with the physical demands of the role
- Experience in working with young people with disabilities in residential child care or in a similar caring environment is preferred. Ongoing development and training will be provided.
- You will need the ability to provide individualised care to young people and to communicate and foster positive relationships with residents, staff, families and other professionals is essential.

**Benefits of working with us**

We offer a supportive environment to grow and develop your career with the opportunity to put your ideas across. Innovation and ambition is strongly encouraged, and you'll get a great feel for that working in our friendly and collaborative environment.

A competitive salary alongside a range of benefits including:

- Local Government Pension Scheme - includes generous employer contribution.
- Incremental holidays starting with 26 days plus public holidays (rising to 33 after 10 years’ service)
- Discounted Child Care (on site nursery)
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Season train ticket loans
- Salary Sacrifice Car Lease Scheme
- A range of local shopping discounts

Brighter Futures for Children is a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to the recruitment and continued employment of people with disabilities.

A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking.

**Asking for Adjustments**

Brighter Futures for Children is committed to making our recruitment practices barrier-free and as accessible as possible for everyone. This includes making adjustments or changes for disabled people, neurodiverse people or people with long-term health conditions.
