Sheffield Woodland Kindergarten is a fully outdoor nursery based in Lynwood Gardens. Children play and learn within an outdoor environment with the support of our fun and caring practitioners. Our kindergarten follows a child-led approach whereby our practitioners follow children's leads, scaffolding children's learning and encouraging a deep curiosity of the world around us.

We're currently looking for a practitioner to join our team who has a Forest School Qualification and a deep interest in nature and the natural environment. Our Forest School Leader role is perfect for someone who has a background in early years education but with the ability to identify trees and fungi, an interest in foraging and outdoor cooking, and can teach children how to safely build fires and use tools. **Responsibilities**:

- Lead the forest school ethos within our kindergarten, supporting other practitioners to learn about flora and fauna within our kindergarten environment so knowledge of nature can be shared and taught to the children in our care
- Be responsible for maintaining tools and equipment such as bowsaws, billhooks and hand drills.
- Take on a group of key children, working with their families to support children's holisitic development
- Use our online management software to record daily records such s registers, accident forms and observations of the children playing
- Work effectively within the team, communicating and collaborating to support children's development, share ideas, plan activities, trips and parent events.
- Deliver mini training sessions within our staff meeting to share your knowledge and skills with the kindergarten team
- Share ideas and activities through our social media accounts
- Work in line with the statutory requirements of the EYFS

**Requirements**:

- Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification
- Minimum of level 3 qualification in early years
- Minimum of 1 years of experience working with children and families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy environment
- Proficient in using online management systems
