We are currently working with a outstanding secondary school in West London to hire a School Administrator to support the sixth form team. **Please note that you must be willing to have a DBS processed for this role.**

**The role**

**Responsibility for the sixth form study area**
- To supervise and manage the silent Study Area.
- To ensure an effective working environment during all periods in the school day.
- To ensure students are registered for every study period with in the first 5 minutes.
- To ensure all Students are actively working throughout their study periods.
- To ensure no food or drink other than water is consumed in the Study Area.
- To ensure mobile phone and other IT devices are used appropriately during study periods
- To help maintain a formal ethos and decorum around all sixth form working spaces

**Responsibility for Student Achievement and Progress**
- To attend all Sixth Form assemblies. This will help the SFC keep abreast of any notices or reminders for teaching, learning, assessments and examinations affecting students.
- To meet regularly with the APSF identify, discuss and set strategies to secure the progress and attainment of students.
- To collate and use personalised learning plans for each individual student in both Year 12 and Year 13.
- To pro-actively support the Head of Sixth Form in checking the Dress Code, equipment, diaries etc.

**Pastoral and Academic**
- To liaise sensitively and effectively with KS5 students, acting as a role model and establishing constructive and supportive relationships with them.
- To support, guide, mentor and motivate students whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
- To deal with day-to-day issues of students, assessing each situation and taking appropriate actions to resolve them, using judgement to refer where necessary.
- To alert relevant staff of emotional/social problems in students' home life that could affect their attendance, behaviour, completion of coursework/homework etc. and to request information about student progress from staff.
- To liaise as necessary with external agencies, including Social Services, and other colleagues in the school.
- To provide objective and accurate feedback, information and reports.

**Behaviour**
- To support the Head of Sixth Form in identifying students with persistent negative behaviour.
- To support pupils with behavioural difficulties in liaison with other agencies/departments in the school.
- To support staff in the instance of truanting by searching for students and responding accordingly.
- To provide an executive summary about a behaviour incident to the APSF/SLT as required.
- To facilitate/assist in pupils' attendance for after school detention.
- To provide administrative support for letters that are sent home regarding positive behaviour, rewards, praise cards etc.
- In collaboration with colleagues identify student welfare concerns and ensure that these are dealt with appropriately and in line with the school safeguarding policy.
- Liaise with parents on pastoral and welfare issues.
- Attend other meetings both within the school and outside with external colleagues relating to pastoral and welfare needs of students as and when necessary.
- Prepare information needed for meetings relating to pastoral and welfare needs of students.
- To oversee a given number of sixth form detentions each fortnight.

**Attendance**
- To work in conjunction with the Sixth Form Team and Attendance Officer on a daily basis, to ensure phone calls home are made to ascertain why a pupil is absent from school.
- To record issues in students' attendance as and where appropriate.
- To support students whose attendance and punctuality may be problematic with their study skills and work completion.
- To meet and record pupils who are late on a daily basis, in order to monitor punctuality.

**UCAS**

**Publicity and Promotion**
- Assisting in producing the Sixth Form Calendar.
- Attending Open Evening and Parents Evening to promote the sixth form.
