An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of Clinical Support Division Governance team.

You will join a dynamic and well established Governance team within Clinical Support Division.

You will work closely with the Quality and Patient Safety Lead and Deputy Governance Lead and will have the opportunity to work with the wider senior management team within the division.

You will be motivated and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills with attention to detail.

The role will give you insight into all aspects of governance with involvement in incident management and risks.

You will be responsible for coordinating the day to day Quality and Safety agenda in order to provide an effective, efficient and patient safety focused services.

This role offers a unique opportunity for the post holder to support the division leadership team in effectively managing the division’s governance arrangements in relation to quality, risk and patient safety.

Main duties of the job

Provide support for the Divisional Governance Team in the delivery of an effective Quality, Risk and Safety agenda.

This includes analysis of data and providing regular updates to the Division on progress made in the delivery specific activities, making them aware of potential problems or obstacles.

The governance facilitator will analyse IT systems and provide regular activity and trend analysis data for the division, and provide specialist analytical support and interpretation to colleagues within the division.

The governance facilitator will facilitate and regularly organise meetings to support the governance team, provide accurate information and support oversight of quality and safety work across the division.

You will work within the Clinical Support quality and safety team supporting 5 pathways of different specialties.

The division quality and safety team includes a Governance Facilitator, Deputy Governance Lead, Division Director for Governance and Division Lead for Quality and Patient Safety.

Assist in the development and implementation of the Divisional agenda for Clinical Governance ensuring evidence is available to meet the internal and external requirements for assurance.

Contribute new ideas to develop clinical governance within the Division and the work of the clinical governance team.

Understanding the value of information and how data may be turned into business intelligence and used to solve problems.

Using this insight to support staff to undertake clinical audit consider learning from critical incidents, risk management issues and/or evidence of effectiveness, ensuring a unified approach across sites, and utilising results to change practice where this is indicated.

Produce reports, activity and trend analysis data for the Division on a regular basis, adhering to Directorate, Trust and national deadlines.

Provide specialist analytical support, interpretation and reporting to a range of key stakeholders across the Division and to present findings where appropriate.

- Awareness and understanding of the principles of clinical governance, including risk management, clinical audit and clinical effectiveness.
- Experience of managing complex administrative office, information and database systems.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Experience of recording, analyzing and presenting quality information to support effective decision making.
- Planning and organizing workload to meet deadlines
- Experience of systems administration and management

Desirable criteria
- Experience of training staff
- Knowledge of undertaking root cause analysis investigations.
- NHS experience
