**Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;**

**Provide day to day advice on all health, safety and environmental issues for the National Highways East region business unit. Direct reporting line to the Business Unit Manager and an indirect link through to the Ringway Group Health & Safety Manager.**

**Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;**

**Provide day to day advice on all health, safety and environmental issues contained within the integrated management system. Deploy company policies and procedures to ensure that the business unit complies with company requirements and meet their legal objectives. Collaborate with the client’s health safety and environmental advisers and act as their single point of contact on all health, safety and environmental issues.**

**Formal qualifications required;**

**Corporate membership of IOSH and/or qualified to NEBOSH Construction Certificate or above**

***

**Skills required;**

**Computer literate in Microsoft office and other company systems**

**Strong communication skills (written & verbal)**

**Strong co-ordination organisation and administrative skills**

**An ability to give attention to detail and maintain accurate records**

***

**Experience required;**

**Prior knowledge of related legal requirements and relevant processes**

**A minimum of two years' related experience as a health, safety and environmental adviser**

**A good working knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards relevant to the proposed work**

***

**Knowledge;**

**Able to communicate to all levels (management & operations)**

**Logical and detailed in approach to work**

**Computer literate**
