**Job Title: Alternative Provision Manager**

**Responsible to - Assistant Principal Behaviour & Attitudes**

**Job Overview**

To work under the guidance of the Assistant Principal
- Behaviour & Attitude to manage the group of students who have been allocated a place within the academy’s internal Alternative Provision for behaviour, The Lighthouse and manage the day to day running.

**Main Responsibilities**

Under the direct leadership and supervision of the Assistant Principal the postholder will undertake a range of duties, which may include:

- Manage the group of students who have been allocated a place within the academy’s internal Alternative Provision for behaviour, The Lighthouse, on a day-to-day basis.
- Promote and ensure high levels of attendance, positive behaviour and engagement in learning for all students who attend the academy’s internal Alternative Provision to ensure consistent progress is made.
- Deliver aspects of the curriculum to students within The Lighthouse and liaise with Heads of Department and curriculum staff from the main school to support the delivery of the complete Waltham Toll Bar curriculum.
- To liaise directly with all members of the inclusion team and report directly to the Assistant Principal - Behaviour and Attitudes
- To attend weekly inclusion meetings and provide reports and updates on AP students.
- To work closely with parents/carers and students to improve levels of behaviour and engagement in learning.
- To prioritise pupils‘ social and emotional literacy and promote independence in a safe and secure environment
- To employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement
- To support the learning of individuals and groups of pupils
- To encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others
- To observe, record and support the social and emotional development of pupils to identify individual needs and difficulties and to feed back to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement
- To promote the inclusion of all pupils within the school so that they are able to participate in all aspects of school life
- To follow-up and address behaviour incidents, as required.
- To listen, support and discuss issues sensitively with parents and carers under the supervision of the SLT and to occasionally participate in feedback sessions/meetings with parents
- To provide objective and accurate feedback as required to the SLT/teacher on pupil well-being progress and other matters ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
- To be responsible for keeping and updating records, contributing to reviews of systems/records as required
- To work within an established behaviour policy to manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control, self-reflection and independence.
- Prepare, plan and manage specific well-being activities using effective methods and adjusting them according to pupils’ responses/needs
- To set out and prepare the Lighthouse according to the needs of the pupils
- To determine the need for, source and order general and specialist equipment and resources for the nurture room/playground
- To supervise pupils on outings and visits as required
- To supervise pupils at lunchtimes and break time
- To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health, safety and security and to refer all concerns to the Principal/safeguarding team, receiving training where necessary from the academy
- To provide appropriate guidance and assist in the training and development of staff as appropriate

**Salary**: £27,451.00-£31,340.00 per year
