**Job Purpose**

An exciting opportunity to work in the school office providing a reception service and administrative support. To provide a welcoming, encouraging service for children, parents/ carers and a range of professionals.

**Apprenticeship Summary**
- Monday to Friday (shifts to be confirmed)
- Wage: £6.50 per hour
- 37 hours per week (Term Time Only)
- Expected duration: 20 months

**Key responsibilities**
- Act as the first point of contact within the school, filtering enquiries as appropriate and taking and passing on messages to appropriate staff.
- Provide administrative support for the Office Manager.
- Responsible for general typing and document preparation/ editing as required.
- Inputting and maintaining pupil data on SIMs.
- Maintain general administrative filing and paper and computer-based records to ensure data can be easily extracted when required.

- To work with colleagues to achieve school objectives and targets
- Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school
- Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues

Whole-school organisation, strategy and development
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the school’s values and vision
- Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
- Ensure that pupils work together positively and co-operatively, with good behaviour in line with the school’s policy and procedures.
- Encourage and promote the social and emotional development of pupils

**Requirements and prospects**

**Desired skills**
- Able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding roles and responsibilities, and one’s own position within the team
- Experience of working with staff at all levels
- ICT and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel

**Personal qualities**
- Reliable and punctual
- Organised and attention to detail
- Polite and professional attitude
- Prior work experience desired, but not essential
