For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, at one of our offices.

**What you’ll be doing**:
You’ll be leading a team of business partners in delivering financial management services to senior stakeholders, influencing performance and outcomes to ensure the right commercial decisions are made.

You will be:

- Communicating financial results to senior stakeholders (primarily ExCo and ELT members), adding insight through the identification and communication of key issues in business performance, drawing standard and ad-hoc analysis
- Proactively partnering the business to identify alternative actions to address business under-performance/ stretch performance, providing recommendations based upon financial and commercial insight
- Responsible for the agreement of high-level financial forecast assumptions with business customers and the business partners, identifying business trends and value drivers relevant to the forward planning process including cost efficiencies
- Presenting, reviewing, and influencing forecast outputs, investment decisions, cost and profitability strategies with the business to optimise financial performance in the context of the overarching Society strategy
- Proactively partnering the business to identify and evaluate long term strategic options to improve performance, providing an external competitor and industry trends perspective on key decisions
- Providing finance policy advice to the senior management team
- Influencing business decision making as a senior member of the management team and a financial officer for the business unit being supported. Providing were relevant a view outside of your finance specialism.
- Performance enabling a team, motivating, and developing the business partner skillset

**About you**:

- Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification experience and specifically, extensive experience in business partnering.
- Proven experience in building strong working relationships with and influencing a wide-ranging level of stakeholders
- **Say it straight** - This is about being honest and direct with good intent and saying what needs to be said in the room. It’s also about being clear, precise, and using language that we and, importantly, our customers and members can understand.
- **Push for better** - This is about aiming high and constantly looking for better in how we work together and serve our customers and members.
- **Get it done** - This is about prioritising what will have the greatest impact, being decisive and taking accountability for delivering on the end-to-end outcome.
