An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, motivated and innovative person to work in our outpatient physiotherapy service. The successful applicant will work as part of the team which covers a number of locations across Medway. This is a part time position (27 hours) and we would therefore consider a split role with another job/service.
This position requires the post holder to be able to reach dispersed sites in a timely manner, but you will primarily be based at MCH house. It also includes developing to see patients referred to you by the physiotherapists in conjunction with other duties such as cleaning, stocking, ordering and data inputting.
We are committed to CPD and promoting evidence-based practise and a high standard of care throughout the service. The successful applicant would work with a number of senior clinicians, including extended scope physiotherapists and would be expected to participate in the regular department in-service training programme. We have a proven track record of supporting personal development and work closely with the university to extend staff skills.
You will need good communication skills, be a team player, and demonstrate a willingness to learn. Previous experience at a Band 2 or 3 would be desirable, although we would consider a developmental post. An interest in rehabilitation would be helpful, but we are willing to offer full training to the right person.

The physiotherapy department works closely with the orthopaedic clinical assessment service (CAS) and receives referrals from a number of sources including GPs and consultants.

To undertake guided rehabilitation work to promote the independence of patients within the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service.
To accept patients delegated by a physiotherapist and carry as own case load.
To accept patients identified under a protocol and carry as own patient caseload.
To treat patients according to set protocols, and progress within parameters set by the physiotherapist.
To assists the physiotherapists in organising and running clinics and groups.
