We’re seeking two Sensory Panel Leaders to build their careers here at MMR, based either at MMR’s Sensory Science Center in Berkshire or at our client-side panel in Bishop’s Stortford. Experience of running a panel is highly desirable, but not essential.

MMR’s new sensory facility is set to fulfil a highly specialized service for compelling research insights that FMCGs can use to elevate their pack and product experience. The innovative facility will feature 6 highly adaptable workspaces that will enable panelists to evaluate not only the usual food and drink categories but a broader range of products.

Our Sensory Panel Leader opportunity will have prime responsibility for running sessions with our expert trained sensory panels, including panel sessions planning, sensory moderation, panel performance analysis and monitoring to fulfil our clients’ needs and fit their KPIs. There will also be opportunities to connect with our global sensory client panel teams to discuss and align on best practices. The role will also benefit from MMR’s global sensory team training and mentoring.

Main responsibilities include:

- Organising and planning the panel schedule
- Leading Panel Sessions
- Oversight of data collection and monitoring panel performance
- Ensuring that panel procedures are compliant with food hygiene standards
- Management of the expert trained panellists, running recruitment / screening as necessary

**Requirements**:

- Be educated to degree level or equivalent (ideally in a related field such as food science, sensory science, etc,) - Bachelor’s degree is essential, Master’s degree is desirable
- Have a real passion for sensory research
- It would be advantageous to have some prior sensory experience, previous panel leading (descriptive panels) would be desirable
- Be a strong team player
- Analysis and interpretation skills
- High level of IT competency (understanding of Compusense would be beneficial)
