We are currently looking to recruit a Parish Steward to work on our Wiltshire contract in Melksham.

As the Parish steward you will be part of our Highways Operational Team who are responsible for The maintenance of the highway network in Wiltshire.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To work safely and be responsible for personal safety and that of others who come into
- To carry out all required checks of plant, equipment and vehicles including completion of associated reports.
- To liaise with the Divisional Highways Office, Parish and Town Councils to identify and agree works programmes.
- To undertake identified works including maintenance to highway drainage features, signsand street furniture, carriageway and footway defects, and clearance of highway obstructions.
- To identify and where possible, repair minor defects.
- To note and report more major defects and problems, both on and adjacent to thehighway
- To accurately complete daily record sheets and submit them at the end of eachday.
- Accurate recording of information in HIAMS via use of tablet device
- To respond to out of office hours emergencies in accordance with roster and withinrequired timescales.
- Participate in Winter Service and OOH operations.

**Essential Skills**:

- Holds a current driving license, and capable of gaining LGV license
- Conversant with Microsoft Programs
- Holds Street Works qualifications desired not essential as training will be provided
- Holds or working towards NVQ level 2.
- Competent and trained to operate powered hand tools such as disc cutters, chainsaws, plate compactors, strimmer’s and hedge cutters.
- Competent by training to act as a banksman.
- Appointed Persons first aider.
