The salary of £25,671.38 - £33,078.45 is a 43-week contract, with the FTE equivalent salary range being £26,751.73 - £34,470.53. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Clinical Responsibilities**
- To accept clinical responsibility for a caseload of learners and organise this
- effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and resources of staff
- and time and to ensure that this is the case across the team.
- To provide clinical assessment for learners with a range of
- conditions/disabilities and complex social and functional needs
- To provide appropriate direct and indirect interventions and strategies for
- learners
- To provide support to academic staff and relevant stakeholders to maximise the
- communication environment for students
- To actively participate in departmental in-service training programmes by
- attending and delivering presentations, tutorials, individual training sessions,
- peer review, external courses and professional clinical interest groups.
- To facilitate through personal attendance or through the team, speech and
- language therapy representation at relevant MDT meetings to ensure the
- delivery of a co-ordinated multidisciplinary service and to integrate speech and
- language therapy recommendations into the overall college programme. This
- will include positive behaviour meetings, transition reviews and other
- appointments as required.
- To ensure that learner records are kept to a level that satisfies clinical standards
- and that meet the needs of the college.
- In coordination with the relevant college staff to follow the dysphagia referral
- and support process.
- To perform other duties as are commensurate with the status and nature of the
- post.
- To promote the college values of enabling, collaboration, respect, integrity,
- excellence and inclusion and lead by example at all times.

**Departmental Responsibilities**
- To work as part of a team both within the Speech and Language Therapy
- Department and within the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team including the
- Behaviour Team and Class staff.
- To participate in regular departmental meetings.
- To enable and oversee with the team the quality review of the service and to

adapt practice and provision as needed.

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:

- To have a relevant degree 2:2 and above
- To be registered with HCPC
- Have completed or be willing to work towards completion of Newly Qualified Practitioner’s Competencies

**Skills and Expertise**
- To be able to communicate clearly and effectively relating well with all stakeholders.
- Ability to form and promote positive relationships with staff, students, relatives/carers and other agencies and professionals.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload within the allocated caseload and other duties.
- To have excellent report writing skills.
- To be registered with RCSLT
