You will Support the provision of a comprehensive and effective temporary staffing function to the organisation as required in relation to:
Utilising Trust systems to source, book and facilitate payment of temporary Bank & Agency staff across all areas of the Trust. This supports the Trusts staffing levels and skill mix in order to provide an effective service and support patient safety.
Ensure pre-employment checks for temporary workers are in line with all NHS Employment Check Standards and Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
Assist temporary staff, ward managers and other key stakeholders with queries.
Chasing and recording mandatory training compliance for Bank Staff
Provide administrative support to the Temporary Staffing Operations Manager

Deliver under the supervision of the Temporary Staffing Operations Manager:
Ensure all temporary staffing shift requests are appropriately dealt with in a timely manner
Allocating staff appropriately to the required shifts as per booking protocols
Monitor, review and inform workers who require up to date mandatory training, and advise manager and bank worker accordingly
Liaise with the Recruitment Team to ensure appropriate pre-employment checks are in place for all new Bank colleagues prior to setting up an electronic record
Follow up any professional registration lapses as per protocol and update the system accordingly
Act as first point of contact dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries efficiently, primarily with bank workers/agency consultants/Matrons/Ward Managers/Sisters/finance and other internal departments
Regularly engage with temporary workers to obtain availability, develop relationships using persuasive skills to ensure a greater take up of booking by individuals
Ensure all EWTD requirements relating to 48 hours working are followed and appropriate actions taken
Liaise with staffing agencies to fill unfilled shifts as per necessary approval processes; reviewing pro-formas as required.
Quality checking agency checklists prior to setting up new worker records in Healthroster to ensure they meet compliance in line with NHS framework agreements
Run reports monthly to check non-active agency workers and liaise with the agency to make the worker records inactive
All complaints are appropriately raised with the Temporary Staffing Operations Manager, Temporary Staffing Manager or the Matron for Professional Standards
Complete workforce forms as per procedure e.g. terminations, additional posts, and send for appropriate authorisation as per Standard Operating Procedures
Checking and processing timesheets daily for payment in line with payroll deadlines/SFI’s. Recognise when to escalate any issues to management for further investigation.
File employee related records accurately and in a timely manner adhering to Data Protection guidance
To be aware of data quality issues at all times, taking action to maintain standards and report to Temporary Staffing Manager as appropriate
Extract daily/weekly/monthly shift reports for senior managers/agencies with using Bankstaff (fill rate reports/adhoc reports/escalated shift reports/finance month end journal)
Assist in establishing new working processes, review and evaluate ways of working
