**Company description**

GBP 22,360 to 26,360 working 40 hours per week depending on the experience.

Safeside Supported Living Services provides support to 4 service users in a five-bedroom accommodation for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. The building has space for Education and Training, which is used for various group activities, including staff training and other services such as hosting meetings and advice sessions. Service also has a fully equipped sensory room to help individuals with sensory issues that service users can access daily.

- 8 am - 4 pm
- 4 pm - 10 pm
- 10 pm - 8 am
- Sleep-ins
- Monday to Sunday

Responsibilities and Outcomes Skills / Experience

**Essential**

Key Responsibilities:
Assessing resident needs through robust Support Planning and Risk Assessments and obtaining necessary information from other agencies.
- Ensure that resident support plans and risk assessments are followed and contributed to regular reviews of these plans for individuals to achieve the most outstanding possible control over their own life.
- Assist residents in managing and maximising their finances effectively and monitoring personal bills and weekly budgeting, e.g., food and clothes shopping where appropriate.
- Ensuring that all residents' records are accurately maintained.
- Promote independent living, confidence building, self-awareness, training, education, employment opportunities, and participation in the local community.
- Enable residents to develop and implement their support plan needs and risk assessments.
- Communicate/consult with relatives, partners, advocates, friends or carers, and other staff and agencies, as appropriate, regarding the resident's health, social care, and well-being.
- Promote resident involvement in shaping and monitoring services so they have real choice and control over the service they receive.
- Provide high-quality, responsive, and person-centred services that meet residents' physical, mental and emotional needs and ensure people have choice and control over their own lives.
- Be aware of and follow **Safeside Supported Living Services** policies and procedures, with particular attention to standards of resident service, health and safety, and equality and diversity
- Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive approach to vulnerable people maintaining their dignity and self-respect at all times.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits.
- Good written and oral communication, numeracy, IT, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of external services providing services to vulnerable people.
- Ability to cope with verbally aggressive and volatile situations.

**Person specification**
- Understanding of Health and Safety issues
- Ability to cope positively with challenging and diverse behaviours
- Experience in supported housing work, including housing management, advocacy, and debt management.
- Be able to cover shifts at short notices and flexible in a demanding working environment.

**Qualifications**
- Appropriate professional or vocational qualification - desirable. NVQs 2-3, Autism awareness, Makaton, PMVA/ MAPA training.

- Appropriate support plans are in place and implemented
- Residents' finances are managed with support.
