**Finance Officer**

Smart Education is collaborating with a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School located in Harborne and is currently seeking a Finance Officer to contribute to the provision of a high-quality financial service to the school. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively support financial planning, operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with school policies.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Collaborate with the school in the preparation and implementation of financial plans.

Identify and propose procedural and system changes to enhance the school budget management.

Act as an integral team player, contributing to various working parties.

Generate accurate and timely reports of the appropriate standard for the school.

Carry out all administrative functions in accordance with school policies.

Utilise data management systems to input and manage data as required.

Liaise with the Local Authorities Finance section.

Adhere to school financial procedure regulations.

Ensure a comprehensive audit trail exists for all aspects of work.

Manage the petty cash system efficiently.

Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with responsibilities.

Execute tasks with due regard to Health and Safety.

Adhere to the ethos of the school and promote its agreed vision and aims.

Set an example of personal integrity and professionalism.

Attend relevant staff meetings and parents' evenings.

Demonstrate confident communication skills in English, as required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

Possess competency in using spreadsheets and word processing packages.

Communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing.

Present information clearly in group situations.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Willingness to work in a developing and pressured environment to meet the needs of the school.

Ability to work on own initiative while remaining an active part of a team.

Experience in budgeting and budgetary control at an appropriate level.

Previous experience in a school environment.

Must have a DBS on the update service

Must be available for immediate start

**Qualifications Required**:6 months experience in a school environment

**Salary**: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

**Hours**: 8.30am - 3.45pm (Monday to Friday)

**Location**:Harborne
