The Team & Focus of the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Accountant to assist our Systems Accountant focusing on Implementations and Projects. However, this isn’t a pure accountant role, this is an exciting niche hybrid role between accounting, projects and systems, combining theskills and interests of someone from a financial/computing background with the ability of speaking confidently to internal and external stakeholders. We’re looking for individuals who can work seamlessly with both accounting and non-accounting employees andcomfortable managing several projects on the go as well as providing a first-class client experience.
This role will be full time (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm) and will work within our hybrid policy.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with resolution of system issues affecting productivity of both accounting and surveying teams
- Assisting in the development of both accounting system and working with clients to develop client owned Voyager systems
- Ensure the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the finance systems plus the administration and development of planning & reporting tools
- Act as a bridge between the finance and client teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Document and train others on new procedures and solutions
- Work with stakeholders across the business division
- Provide regular and ad-hoc data and management information
- Use data to analyse ad-hoc business queries
- Assist with reviewing systems performance and identifying system issues
- Troubleshooting and fixing finance related system issues
- Training and supporting finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures
- Responsibility for setting up new instructions on the accounting software
- Assistance with set up of client, property and lease data on various Voyager/propman systems
- Accounting for acquisitions and disposals from completion statements
- Accounting for tenant deposits - ensuring deposit accounts are opened and book entries are completed
- Implementation of service charge handovers on both acquisition and sale
- Assisting with the transfer of selected clients from propman to voyager
- Responsibility for the administration of the users on the propman program
- Responsibility for the administration of the parameters on the propman program
- Systems development and finance systems experience
- Qualified/part qualified Accountant
- Some experience working in project environment
- Advanced computer software skills, including Excel macros and other accounting packages
- Property experience would be ideal although not essential
- Appreciation of practice in a professional services operation
- Numerate and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to manage a busy workload with limited supervision
