**About the role**

The Family Worker ( supporting families of individuals who are currently in drug/alcohol addiction) is a new role for which we have just secured funding for a two-year period, but which may be extended if successful.

The purpose of the post is to provide a dynamic, creative and multi-faceted approach to support families, carers and friends of individuals who are currently in drug/alcohol addiction, and to develop a wider family support programme. This purpose will be fulfilled through a combination of one-to-one support work, group work, telephone support and liaison with local services. The role holder will also be responsible for developing a family support programme; including the creation of a wide network of partners including other services and interested individuals.

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with a half hour unpaid lunch, with the occasional requirement to work weekends or evenings.

**About you**

We are seeking someone who is experienced in working with those who are currently in drug/alcohol addiction, who is passionate about people, kind, approachable and able to offer non-judgemental support. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to be flexible and dynamic and seize new opportunities within the wider community.

There will be some travel required within Wirral, and the ability to drive would therefore be an advantage.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
