The role

The Community Resilience Coordinator is a dual role, working to drive positive change across social housing communities across Southwark with Southern Housing and HACT (Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust). The Community Resilience Coordinator would be the local lead for community resilience partnerships and projects across SH homes and neighbourhoods in Southwark and surrounding areas, and for 2.5/3 days per week support the delivery of HACT’s Age Friendly Social Housing programme - supporting work across a partnership of housing associations in Southwark to improve outcomes and engagement opportunities for older people living in the borough.

The Community Resilience Coordinator will also be responsible for:
- Maximising resource and opportunities for social housing residents across Southwark and to support collaborative working.- Working in Partnership with HACT, the contractor and funders, to maximise their opportunities for engagement and delivery of social value opportunities.- Establishing a Community Development Plan, developing and coordinating activities, engaging local partners, and seeking funding to stretch resources to create greater impact from social value.- Delivering local projects, partnerships and initiatives which support communities to recover from the impact of Covid 19, building community connections and to reduce social isolation.- Working with local people to design and deliver programmes.

In this role you will need strong communication and stakeholder management skills. One of the roles main responsibilities will be to build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract role for 12 months with the possibility of extension. The 35 hours per week will be worked Monday to Friday; 7 hours per day, occasional weekend or evening work required.

Person Specification

Essential criteria:
- Knowledge and experience of the issues faced by communities and groups heavily impacted by Covid 19- Experience of codesigning projects and services with local people and supporting their delivery.- Knowledge and experience of community development issues and principals- Demonstrable experience of successful neighbourhood-based community/regeneration work- Knowledge and understanding of community regeneration processes and funding regimes- Experience of budget management- Experience of working in partnership with external organisations-
- Experience of working on multi-stakeholder programmes and supporting partnerships to work towards shared priorities.- Experience of working independently as part of a dispersed team.- Good written and oral communication skill- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to excite others about the benefits of collaboration and participatory practice.- Able to write good quality reports- Ability to use clear language within a variety of setting, including public meeting and conferences- Able to liaise and work effectively with a wide range of people, agencies and organisations- Highly motivated with enthusiasm, flexible, self-motivated and well organised- Able to work well alone and in teams- Strong partnership building and engagement skills- A decision maker who takes ownership and responsibility for the outcomes.- Able to work well under pressure and to meet targets, tight timescales and deadlines- Able to manage projects and contracts- Experience of using monitoring and evaluation practices to track and report on programme progress.- IT literate using MS Office Suite and social media- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent- This post
