On call responsibilities will be undertaken within Critical Care only as part of the programmed activities, and the on-call commitment is a 1:8 weekend cover and a 1:8 weekday cover. The post involves hot week work within the Critical Care Unit on 1:8 basis, which is split into a 3 day (08:00-18:00) and a 2.5-day responsibility over the 8-week rota cycle, plus attendance at the weekly MDT meeting, where we have strong links with radiology, microbiology, and the respiratory medical team as well as the wider allied health professional team Daytime cover is provided by 2 Consultants (1 x consultant 08:00-18:00 and 1 x consultant 08:00-13:00). The appointee will undertake Critical Care 2 (08:00-13:00) sessions within the job plan over the 8-week rota period. The Consultant: patient ratio meets the required standard of 1:8 between 08:00 and 18:00.
