**About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Officer to join the Customer Service Team that provides support for multiple areas of the Council.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Being the initial point of contact for customers in respect of multiple services
- To have a broad understanding of our customers and their needs
- To deal with customer enquiries efficiently and effectively by all communication channels
- To simultaneously use multiple IT systems to manage and resolve enquiries
- To take ownership and resolve queries by using appropriate skills and expertise.
**To be successful you will need**
- A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, must include Maths and English
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Customer focussed, demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude to customer care.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Good level of IT and keyboard skills
You will need to be self
- motivated and a willingness to learn as this role covers a variety of administration duties.This role would be well suited to individuals who have a passion and keen interest in the public sector, who are flexible, organised and used to working in a fast-paced environment. You will be given training so please do not worry if you have not had exposure to the public sector world, all we ask is that you are keen and want to do a good job. You will trained on how to deal with a variety of tasks and how to support different functions across the Council in particular.
