We are currently looking for a proactive and skilled **Maintenance Assistant** to join our team. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with our maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of all facilities within the hotel. This role is essential in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality throughout the premises.

We are a full service hotel, with 120 bedrooms, offering daily dining with conference and events facilities within the City Centre of Belfast. We are currently undergoing a full extensive refurbishment as we rebrand to voco by IHG with plans to launch in the Summer so now is an exciting time to join the team.

**The Role**

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract, based on 20 hours per week with opportunities for additional hours and extension based on the hotels needs. We envision that this role will support the day to day functions within Maintenance as we continue with our extensive refurbishment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the maintenance and repair of all hotel equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues promptly.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and complaints related to maintenance issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment and facilities.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in maintenance storage areas.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption to guests.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
