This role will oversee the management of the soft FM (facilities management) services to provide safe, clean and fit for purpose accommodation to a range of services and their staff and patients.

**You will be responsible for**:

- The co-ordination of the hospital site, ensuring efficient liaison with other on site disciplines.
- For the management and development of IFM staff (domestics, porters and reception staff) and functions within their area of responsibility, ensuring an efficient, effective and responsive service is provided for patients, staff and visitors at all times.

Derbyshire Community Health Services provide community health services to over one million people as part of Joined up Care Derbyshire and DCHS employ around 4,200 staff caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and increasingly, in peoples own homes.

Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), offers Soft FM services across many hospital and healthcare premises in Derbyshire providing a range of services such as portering, catering, domestic cleaning and linen and laundry services.

St Oswald's Hospital has an in-patient Ward and offers a wide variety of Outpatient Clinics to the local population.

**Leadership**:

- To effectively line manage identified IFM staff and teams within the locality ensuring that the services comply with local and national standards and legislation (Health & Safety, Infection, Prevention and Control, Fire, National Standards of Cleanliness, PLACE and Technical Audits).
- To ensure all required audits are undertaken across areas of responsibility and any necessary actions are implemented and completed within the required timeframes e.g. PLACE, Technical Audits
- To be responsible for the co-ordination of IFM activities across the site/s liaising with the Landlord, Health and Safety and other departments as required
- Supervise the workload of the IFM staff ensuring smooth operation of the site.
- To support the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
- To attend meetings as and when required to represent IFM.
- To undertake appraisals and support the development of IFM staff
- To ensure all staff attend mandatory training
- To provide daily operational leadership with support from the IFM Operational Manager to ensure required attendance and performance of staff meets the Trust targets
- To undertake a ‘hands on’ approach when required to ensure continued delivery of IFM service

**Patient Care**:

- To ensure the health care environment meets national and local standards to enhance the patient experience
- To undertake risk assessments as required to ensure a continued safe environment for all service users and staff
- To ensure continued safe working practices are maintained across all areas of service
- To undertake an active role in the implementation and monitoring of Infection Control standards in relation to IFM service provision

**Financial Resources/Management**:

- To ensure effective use and management of service budget and resources, monitoring the appropriate budgets with authorisation for £1000
- To monitor pay and non-pay budgets within their area of responsibility
