Project Support Officer
- Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 per annum
- Contract: 37.5 hours per week, permanent
- Employer: Chilterns Conservation Board
- Location: Chilterns Conservation Board Offices, Chinnor, Oxfordshire, OX39 4HA (Covid dependent)

About the role:
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team working in one of the country’s finest and most high-profile protected landscapes. The Chilterns Conservation Board’s (CCB) size and ambition has grown in recent years, and this role has been created to help provide vital project and administrative support to our busy organisation.

This is an exciting time to join the CCB. We are one of the largest Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK. Easily accessed by tube from London, we are on the doorstep for over 10 million people. Our role is to increase people’s understanding and enjoyment of the AONB, to conserve and enhance the landscape, and to support the economic and social wellbeing of our local communities.

Our dedicated, expert team punches well above its weight and covers a very diverse range of areas including mitigating the impacts of HS2, developing and delivering multi-million pound National Lottery Heritage Fund projects, enhancing our rare and fragile chalk streams, driving forward the government’s new Farming in Protected Landscapes programme and connecting more people with nature and cultural heritage.

The Project Support Officer will therefore be a varied role, involving work across multiple projects, programmes and workstreams.

About you:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to help to ensure the smooth running of the Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB) and to increase its impact and influence.

You will be a highly efficient team player with the energy, enthusiasm and experience to provide support to senior staff and projects in a busy organisation. The CCB is home to an interconnected team of core and project staff, so you will need to be IT literate with excellent verbal and written communication skills, enjoy and be adept at manging a demanding and varied workload, and pitching in where help is needed. You will be a self-starter who is comfortable working proactively with limited supervision and excited about working in the environment sector, with a desire to innovate and grow with the organisation.

Applicants must be willing to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers.
