Early Years Practitioner

The Early Years Practitioner plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality care and education for children in their formative years, typically from birth to five years old.
This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn and develop skills through play-based activities. Early Years practitioners support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while working closely with families to ensure a holistic care and continuity between home and early years setting. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate nursery practitioner to join our team.
**Duties**
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children both indoors and outdoors.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities based on the early years foundation stage framework.
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime both in and outdoor, snacks, and rest periods.
- Observe and monitor children’s development and behaviour.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure the well being of each child.
- Maintain accurate records of each child’s progress and development.
- Complete all daily nursery tasks satisfactorily as delegated.
- Document and log any incidents or accidents.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and safeguarding of all children in the setting, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, and promoting a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to support children’s needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
**Experience**
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is required.
- Knowledge of early childhood and education principles and practices.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a group of children.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge and understanding of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Keyperson for groups of children
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum level 2/3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (eg CACHE level 2/3 Diploma in childcare and Education, NVQ Level 2/3 in childcare)
- A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education

Pay: £11.50-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 per week
