**Job description**:
This is a high-profile role working on a number of complex areas including policy, delivery, legislation and operations. You will be working on policy aimed at developing longer term strategies for Kent Sites to reduce the impact of regular traffic disruption in Kent and replace the existing systems of traffic management. This is a ministerial priority, with any disruption usually garnering significant media interest when it occurs. There will also be opportunities to work on other areas of border policy within the team, such as site delivery and future border policies.

Collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams will be vital, with opportunities to enhance existing expertise and develop new skills. If you want to be part of a team whose work has an impact on millions of people’s lives across the country, we want to hear from you.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Contribute to policy advice for ministers and senior officials, including but not limited to, ministerial briefings, submissions and parliamentary business.
- Gather information, including engaging with experts, and bringing it together for oral and written briefing and correspondence etc. and ensure latest team lines are updated within the core briefing pack.
- Lead the coordination of updates to relevant risks and deliverables registers acting as the team’s PMO focal point.
- Provide secretariat support for Kent Resilience Strategy Task and Finish Groups and other meetings and forums as required.
- Provide finance and contract management support functions acting as the team’s Special Requisitioner, coordinating forecast returns and other ad-hoc requests for information from the Finance team.
- Provide ad-hoc support to teams in Future Borders Policy related, but not limited to Kent sites, the implementation of the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) and the potential use of technology, as required.

**Additional Info**

A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.

If based in Birmingham or Leeds, you may be required to travel to London once a month. Occasional travel to Kent may be required.
