**The Opportunity** There is a great opportunity for a Technical Centre Manager (B4/Eii) to join our Operations department.

As a Manager within the Technical Centre you will be responsible for leading a department cross-site (Edinburgh and Bristol) who support a wide variety of stakeholders and customers across the Scottish Widows account.
Relationship building, resource planning, leading and supporting a team and interaction with senior stakeholders are all key requirements for this role.

**You'll be**:

- Lead and manage a range of Technical functions across multiple sites to deliver excellent service to clients, customers and colleague as defined by policy, contract, regulation, legislation and company strategy.
- Optimise the resources of the team to match business objectives, encourage cost efficiency within the management group and ensure statistics are available to proactively manage the workload of the team and efficiently within budgets.
- Continually review team achievement against objectives, identify variance with target and be proactive in taking appropriate action to ensure delivery of SLA targets.
- Lead, develop and direct the Team Managers by appropriate performance management and development standards and practices and by continuous and active employee engagement. Coach, mentor and develop direct reports to ensure effective and consistent operationaldelivery, governance, risk management, best practice and shared culture across all locations and functions
- Lead people through Corporate change by using appropriate communication methods to maintain team members' commitment to Corporate Strategy, Future Vision, Customer needs and Business Area Operating Plan.
- Build Strong Relationships with Stakeholders within the Diligenta structure but also with the Client, being Commercially aware
- Support the adherence of the Quality framework, ensuring Controls are completed and reported through to the Senior Managers/Leaders on a monthly basis and track actions to remain Compliant.
- Oversee the management of the Legacy systems/BaNCs procedure maintenance process, highlighting Control failings in monthly meetings with Senior Managers/Leaders and tracking the completion of actions
- Ensure an effective Risk Events management culture exists within Diligenta, with effective engagement of key stakeholders and effective training delivered at least annually. Ensure root cause themes for Risk events are effectively identified and reportedand key stakeholders are effectively engaged to deliver improvements to reduce risk of reoccurrence.
- CII Certificate in Financial Services or equivalent
- background in Business Risk, Outcome Testing, Financial Crime or 1st line Risk would
be an advantage
- Has worked for an FCA regulated company.
- Strong technical understanding of the life and pensions industry
- Has ideally worked within an outsourced client
- The job holder will be required to undertake a variety of tasks and must be able to work autonomously and work well under pressure
