Counter Assistant

**Your Duties**:
**Counter Assistants will be required to provide Basic advice on**:
- Housing benefit and universal credit enquiries.
- Accounts and arrears enquiries including taking payments.
- Repair requests and follow up on outstanding repairs on the customer’s behalf.
- Estate management and/or community issues.
- Properties available on choice based lettings.
- Planned maintenance schemes/planned programmes within the area.
**Provide assistance with**:
- Reporting a repair [including for organisational tenants recording the repair on HMS].
- Provision of documentation to the customer, for example, proof of receipt of Housing Benefit, copies of letters from the organisation etc.
- Form filling, for example choice based lettings interest forms.
- Reporting ASB.
**Your Profile**:
**For the purposes of shortlisting, relevant experience will be determined by reference to at least two of the following**:
- Experience of direct delivery of customer service to the public for a minimum of 6 months via the telephone or face to face within the last year.
- At least 6 months experience within a customer delivery environment within the public sector.
- Experience in using a range of computer packages including Word, Excel, Outlook.
