**The Copthorne Hotel Newcastle** is seeking a **Food & Beverage Assistant - **variety of hours and shifts available

**Food & Beverage Assistant responsibilities include**:

- Providing food and beverage service in the Bar, Restaurant and Meeting & Events
- Dealing with guest requests
- General cleaning duties
- Setting conference rooms, moving furniture and equipment
- Carrying out a variety of tasks, depending on guest requirements

**What we are looking for**:

- Experience of Food & Beverage and/or Meetings & Events service
- High customer service focus
- Good communication skills
- Pleasant mannerism and positive, ‘can do’ attitude
- High standards and attention to detail
- Flexibility to carry out a variety of tasks
- Ability to work a variety of shifts on a rota basis, weekend work is included

**About the Hotel**:
Situated on the iconic Newcastle Quayside overlooking the famous River Tyne, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is perfect for both the business and leisure traveller. The hotel provides modern guest rooms which combine Standard, Club and Suite accommodation all of which have picturesque riverside views.

Dining facilities at the hotel include The Quay 7 Restaurant which offers an à la carte menu with a variety of seasonal dishes. The Quay 7 bar and outdoor terrace offer an extensive wine list and selection of beers and spirits, along with a variety of hot beverages.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers as they enter and exit the restaurant
- Prepare and serve customers at various tables with a high level of attention to detail
- Answer, direct and communicate with other employees during shifts
- Answer, direct and communicate with other employees during breaks and during training periods
- Maintain inventory of supplies and maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Cleanliness is not a requirement - you will be handling food and cleaning equipment throughout the day
- Complete all tasks required by other employees, including reporting any issues or concerns to the manager or supervisor
- Complete daily pre-determined task schedule as outlined by the company's policies and state regulations

**Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred - not required
- Previous experience in a food service environment preferred, but not required
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting preferred, but not required
